In CDT our teacher has said that we can make up our own projects so that we learn to become more independent. I am going to use this page so that I can tell everyone about my projevt and research.
My Project
My project is to make a booklet full of 3d pictures using Sketch Up. I am not doing this because I just want to, it is because when I first walked into the CDT classroom I saw loads of pictures hanging up or sitting on the table so I took a closer look and realised that they were 3d and from then on I really wanted to make one and now I have the chance. My theme would be 'World Landmarks'
Things I would need
. Accses to a computer with the Sketch Up program
Accses to other Sketch Up drawings to give me ideas
Paper to sketch out my ideas
Matthew good to see that you have got started. I'm interested to know what you want to make your pictures on - most people start off with houses but you can make anything you like in sketchUp. Would it be centred around a theme? If you download SketchUp for home remember to save your files as sketchup7, as that is the version we have in school

Learning Log
WEEK 1:This week in CDT we started our projects in the workshop. I started my work on making my World Landmarks but the only problem was was that the laptop I had didn't work! Now I have to use a computer which I cant't log on to so I think I should bring in a memory stick to save all my work on. The skills I learned this week in CDT were Independence because we really started to do everything on our own. WEEK2:This week in CDT I started to make my 3D pyramid on the laptop but during the middle of class our teacher stopped us to talk about the learning logs. The skills I used were problem solving because I had to work out what shape and size my pyramid and I also had to find out how to make all the shapes the same size. Next week I have to finish my 3D pyramid and then I have to start planning my next World Landmark. WEEK3: This week in CDT I finally finished my 3D pyramid and started to think about what I was going to do next. The skills I used in CDT were independance and problem solving because I had to find out a way to make the top of my pyramid come to a point and because I did it on my own. Next week I have to start my next 3D project but you will all have to wait and see what it is!!!!!
WEEK4: Nothing.
WEEK5: This week in CDT I finaly finished my 3D pyramid and started my Leaning Tower Of Pizza ( I can't spell Pizza ) The skills i used this week was problem solving because I had to find a way to make a point on my pyramid and helping others because you can kind of tell I helped others. WEEK6: This week in CDT I started to design and make ( on the computer of course) my Empire State Building. The skills I use were patience because I had to make all the windows on the Empire State Buildingand that is a lot by the way
